Teach Like A PIRATE Day Resources

Teach Like A PIRATE Day is a day in which students can attend any class they want for an entire day.  It is based on the driving question of Dave Burgess' Book Teach Like A PIRATE, If kids didn't have to be there, would you be teaching to an empty room?

My staff and I conducted the first Teach Like A PIRATE Day at Utica Junior High School in Utica, Ohio in 2013.  Since then, there have been a number of additional schools who have conducted this social experiment with great success.

I am often asked by other educators to share resources so that they can host their own TLAP Day.  Below are links to multiple blog posts I have written about the topic over the past few years.
